Point Elementary School first-grader Daniel Hinkamp tells a camping story to his classmates during the recent Camp Reads a Lot at the school. Through a grant awarded by the Mehlville-Oakville Foundation, pupils attended Camp Reads a Lot, where they spent the day participating in a variety of enrichment activities. Led by their teachers and parent volunteers, pupils ‘went fishing’ for sight words, took a nature hike to identify living and nonliving things, created bookmarks and raccoon magnets and wrote in their nature notebooks.
