Performance to benefit proposed Veterans Park

ommittee will sponsor a fundraising performance next month of Red, Hot and Blue, which has been honored as Branson’s Best Morning Show, Best Costumes and Best Vocal and Dance Group.

Proceeds from the performance, set for 7 p.m. Friday, May 10, at the Rickman Auditorium, 747 Jeffco Blvd., Arnold, will be used to help construct Veterans Park in Arnold.

The park will be built on land around the parking lot at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2593 on Church Road. As proposed, the park will be 5.5 acres with a 500-foot-long granite replica of the Vietnam Wall. In addition, the park will feature monuments to each war, starting with the Civil War to the present.

Red, Hot and Blue will dazzle the crowd with music from the Roaring ’20s and a Broadway-style ’30s tribute, as well as the Big Band Era, the Rockin’ ’50s, ’60s oldies, ’70s disco and current music, plus an all-American salute to veterans, according to a news release.

In Branson, Red, Hot and Blue performs at the Clay Cooper Theatre at a cost of $30 for the group’s morning show. The Arnold performance will cost $20 per person.

Jefferson County Veterans Tribute Committee President Ron Clark stated in the release, “This is an exciting show, and will be a lot of fun for all. I expect tickets to go fast, and can be purchased at the Arnold Recreation Center or through Ticketmaster.”
