PEGS previews planned in January, February

Parents who would like information on PEGS, the Program for Exceptionally Gifted Students, are invited to attend special PEGS Previews that will take place in January and February.

The previews will be conducted from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday mornings at Tru-man Elementary School, 12225 Eddie and Park Road.

Previews are scheduled Jan. 13 and Jan. 27 and Feb. 10 and Feb. 24.

Michelle Ryder, PEGS administrator, will present an overview of the program, answer questions and give a tour of facilities.

The St. Louis Regional Program for Ex-ceptionally Gifted Students provides a full-time, multi-aged, enriched and extended academic program for those highly gifted students who need an alternative to the regular classroom, according to a news release.

Through an individualized plan for instruction, this program addresses each student’s unique needs for an accelerated, challenging, academic program and offers an organized system for attaining social and emotional growth skills.

Interested parents may obtain an application packet from their home school district’s superintendent’s office. The application deadline for submitting a PEGS application for the 2005-2006 school year is March 1.
