Pearl Harbor memorial service planned

The Pearl Harbor Survivors’ Association Inc. will mark the 64th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Har-bor during its annual memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery Memorial Chapel, 2900 Sheridan Road.

Retired Navy Capt. James Farrar will speak. Farrar served on active duty from September 1968 to August 1993. He currently is head of naval science at the Junior Naval Academy at Cleveland High School.

A memorial wreath will be brought forward at 11:55 a.m., marking the exact time of the attack in Hawaii.

Taps will be played on the chapel’s carillon that will carry over the entire cemetery. The service is open to the public.
