Peace Lutheran Church to present ‘The Living Last Supper’ April 5

Peace Lutheran Church, 737 Barracks-view Road, will celebrate its 20th annual presentation of “The Living Last Supper” on April 5.

This chancel drama depicts Leonardo da Vinci’s famous 1495-1498 painting that shows Jesus partaking of the Passover meal with his Twelve Apostles just before his arrest and crucifixion. During the meal, Jesus told them: “One of you will betray me.” The painting shows the startled ex-pression of the disciples, as each wondered if Jesus meant him.

In this presentation, Peace members will recreate the poses of the disciples in da Vinci’s masterpiece. One by one, each character will “come to life” to share his thoughts and wonder “is it I?” The church’s Chancel Choir adds to the drama with various musical selections and the service culminates with Holy Communion.

Services are at 6 and 8 p.m. on Maundy Thursday, April 5. To guarantee seating, call (314) 892-5610 for free tickets.
