Parent groups give iPads to Concord students
December 4, 2013
The Dads of Concord Elementary School and the school’s Parent-Teacher Group recently presented third-, fourth- and fifth-grade teachers with the gift of technology, purchasing additional iPads for classrooms in all three grade levels.
Teachers thanked the Dads group at a recent meeting, and shared how they plan to use the technology to further student learning, according to a district news release.
For example, fifth-grade students are using the tablets in math workshops, conducting online class discussions and researching social studies projects. Third-grade students are using the iPads to get instant feedback on quiz results and practice important math skills.
“Having one more iPad is a huge help in making each day more successful and meaningful for our students,” fifth-grade teacher Carrie Turek stated in the release.
