Parent groups continue strong support of Lindbergh Schools, students

Lindbergh Schools parent groups continued to show significant support for student programs in 2010-2011 by volunteering, serving on committees and raising funds to support schools.

In fact, parent groups gave $711,099 to schools in 2010-2011, and have provided more than $2.6 million since 2005-2006, according to a district news release.

In 2010-2011, the LHS Spirit of St. Louis Marching Band traveled to the Tournament of Roses Parade, which accounts for the significant increase in fundraising over previous years.

A detailed report of parent organization contributions was presented to the Board of Education Tuesday night, showing significant funding for student scholarships, teacher and program grants, student recognitions and awards, equipment and uniforms for extracurricular groups and school parties and events.

“Our parent organizations’ donations and volunteer efforts over the years have been very important in providing the best possible education and programming to the students of Lindbergh Schools,” Board of Education President Vic Lenz stated in the release. “We appreciate everything our parents do to support students.”
