St. Louis County Executive Sam Page will begin holding regular press briefings on COVID-19 streamed live on Facebook, beginning Monday morning.
The briefings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the St. Louis County Courthouse, 105 South Central Avenue, in downtown Clayton.
The decision to hold more regular briefings comes as hospital officials predict St. Louis will see a surge in cases over the next week or two. As of Sunday, St. Louis County had 1,618 positive cases of coronavirus, with 42 deaths.
All who attend the briefings in person will have their temperatures taken and go through regular courthouse security.
The courthouse was selected so that social distancing practices can be followed, county officials said.
Page, a medical doctor, will make brief remarks and open it up to questions.
The briefings will be streamed live on the county executive’s official Facebook page.
