Pack 661 supports U.S. troops

For the fourth consecutive year, Pack 661 Cub Scouts from Point Elementary School in Oakville remembered U.S. troops during the holidays. At a recent pack meeting, the boys donated items that were sent to deployed military personnel. During the meeting, they created pictures and wrote letters expressing thanks to those who serve our country. The care packages were sent to the 3/5 Marines in Southern Afghanistan and the 205th Military Police Battalion, which is deployed in Eastern Afghanistan. Pack 661 Cubmaster and Navy Ensign Michael O’Donnell invited a special guest to attend the pack meeting, 1st Lt. Jim Avery, who recently returned from serving in Afghanistan with the Missouri National Guard. Avery thanked the Scouts for the care packages they sent to his unit last year when it was in Afghanistan. Also present was former Army Sgt. Edward Bronenkamp, who fought in the Battle of the Bulge in World War II. Two of his grandsons belong to Cub Scout Pack 661.
