Oldani accepts post with Ferguson-Florissant; Lindbergh won’t fill her Central Office position

Vickie Hedges-Oldani, assistant superintendent for special services in the Lindbergh School District, recently announced that she has accepted a position at the Ferguson-Florissant School District at the end of this school year.

Oldani will serve as area executive director of secondary education for Ferguson-Florissant.

“We are really going to miss Dr. Oldani and all that she has brought to Lindbergh,” Superintendent Jim Sandfort stated in a district news release. “Her division was responsible for special education, safety, nurses, counseling, the voluntary interdistrict transfer program, emergency prepared-ness and a host of other programs.”

In looking to the 2005-2006 school year, plans are being made to reorganize Lindbergh’s Central Office.

“The services provided will remain the same,” Sandfort stated. “However, we are anticipating reassigning job responsibilities to other personnel. At least for the immediate future, we plan to see if we can make it without replacing an assistant superintendent. This means that other personnel in the Central Office assume additional duties.”

The superintendent noted, “The board has asked us to continuously look for ways to reduce expenses while at the same time continuing services. This is an opportunity for us to honor that request.”

The school district’s Curriculum and Instruction Division, under the direction of Assistant Superintendent Nancy Rathjen, will pick up most special services responsibilities.

“The two divisions will be blended,” Rathjen stated in the release. “We are anticipating a smooth transition as we integrate student services and curriculum and instruction. It is all about children. This is an opportunity to align services to meet the needs of all children in Lindbergh.
