Arthur Owen Von Rump, DDS, of Crestwood died peacefully surrounded by family July 26.
He was born November 7, 1928 in St. Louis to Arthur L. and Maxine (nee Owen) Von Rump.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lawrence Von Rump (nee McKee), parents Arthur L. and Maxine (nee Owen) Von Rump, and sister Patricia Lucks. He is survived by children Stephen Von Rump of Sunset Hills; Carol Ketcherside of Phoenix, Arizona; Kathy Lutgen of Kokomo, Indiana; sister Kay Carter of St. Louis; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He graduated Webster Groves High School, earned a BA in biology and chemistry at Westminster University, and a DDS at Washington University. He served as an investigator in the Army Counter Intelligence Corps during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged as sergeant first class. He practiced dentistry in Crestwood for 59 years (1957 – 2016). He was a longtime golfer, member of Westborough Country Club, and was an avid bowler.
