Connor Peth, a member of Boy Scout Troop 647, was presented the rank of Eagle Scout during a recent Court of Honor at Beaumont Scout Ranch. He completed his Eagle project in November 2011. Connor, with the help of his father, uncles, fellow troop members and high school friends, built a prayer garden for the sisters at St. Matthias Convent. They placed paver stones, built a stage for a new Blessed Virgin Mary statue and planted new rose bushes around the patio. The entire project was funded by the donations of family, friends and St. Francis of Assisi, as well as St. Matthias parishioners. Connor, who just completed his senior year at St. John Vianney High School, is pictured with his parents, Bill and Cindy Peth of Oakville.
