Oakville man killed in three-car accident

Three others injured in crash on Lemay Ferry Road

An Oakville man died this morning — Tuesday — after a head-on collision in a three-car accident on Lemay Ferry Road.

Police identified the victim as Kyle Knoten, 21, of Oakville. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses of the accident said Knoten’s blue Dodge Neon was traveling northbound on Lemay Ferry in the inside lane at the intersection of Lemay Ferry and Christoble, just south of Mattis Road. The Neon drifted to the left into the center lanes on Lemay Ferry, crossed the center line and hit a gray Chevrolet Malibu head-on, according to the St. Louis County Police Department.

The impact of the crash caused the Malibu, which was traveling in the opposite direction southbound on Lemay Ferry, to hit a third car, a gray Toyota Camry that was also headed southbound on Lemay Ferry.

The woman, 77, driving the Malibu, and the man, 66, driving the Camry, along with a male passenger in the Camry, were transported to a local hospital for injuries — the woman for severe leg injuries and the Camry driver and passenger for minor injuries.

The St. Louis County Crimes Against Persons Unit and Accident Reconstruction Team are investigating the accident.
