Oakville junior earns perfect score on ACT

Oakville High School junior Michael Weaver recently joined an elite group of students from across the country by earning a perfect 36 composite score on the ACT.

On average, less than one-tenth of 1 percent of all ACT participants earn this top score. Weaver is the son of Michael and Rae Ann Weaver.

“Mike is a very hard-working and conscientious student who takes our most rigorous curriculum,” Oakville High Principal Bill Scheffler stated in a news release. “His outstanding score on the ACT is a testimony to his intelligence and work ethic.”

The ACT consists of tests in English, mathematics, reading and science. Each test is scored on a scale of 1 to 36, and a student’s composite score consists of the average of the four test scores. Students also can take the optional writing test on the ACT, but the writing score is reported separately and is not included in the student’s composite score.
