Oakville High student receives Jack Buck Award

An Oakville Senior High School student who has excelled academically and is committed to serving his community was the recipient of the sixth annual Jack Buck Scholar-Leadership Award by Southeast Missouri State University.

The award was presented to Zachary Chinea of Oakville at a dinner in the River Campus atrium sponsored by KMOX.

Hosts were Kenneth W. Dobbins, Southeast Missouri State University president, and the University Honors Program.

Carole Buck, wife of the late Jack Buck, presented the award to Chinea.

Chinea, son of Alex and Charmaine Chinea, has earned high academic honors while being active in various activities at Oakville Senior High School.
