The Oakville Senior High School Choral Program recently earned a number of prestigious awards.

Missouri State Large Ensemble Festival:

• Women’s Chamber Choir — Honor One Rating and One in Sight Reading.

• Concert Choir Mixed — Honor One Rating and One in Sight Reading.

• Madrigal Singers — Honor One Rating and One Plus in Sight Reading.

National Heritage Music Festival in New York City:

• Show Choir Legacy — Silver Award, Second Place in Show Choir Division.

• Concert Choir Treble — Silver Award, Women’s Choir 2A Division.

• Men’s Trip Choir — Silver Award, First Place Men’s Choir Division.

• Women’s Chamber Choir — Gold Award, Second Place Women’s Choir 3A Division.

• Concert Choir Mixed — Gold Award, Third Place Concert Choir Division.

• Madrigal Singers — Gold Award, Second Place Chamber Choir Division.

• OHS Choral Program — the Spirit of New York City Award.

Also, the Madrigal Singers were nationally recognized when they were selected to perform for the Southwestern Divisional Conference of the American Choral Director Association.

The nationally acclaimed OHS Choral Program, directed by Paula Martin and assisted by Denny Dietz, consists of six different audition choirs and roughly 200 students.
