Bryan VanGronigen of Sunset Hills recently was elected the 2007 vice president of finance and records for the Interfraternity Council at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

He is a sophomore, majoring in secondary school counseling. VanGronigen is a member of Lambda Chi Alpha, Kappa Delta Pi, an education honors fraternity, and Pi Lambda Theta, an honors society in educational psychology.

“I am very humbled to have been elected by the Mizzou Greek community,” VanGronigen stated in a news release. “I stand by the pledges I made during my speech, and I am looking forward to working with my colleagues to improve the Interfraternity Council for years to come.”

The IFC is the governing body of all member fraternities. Its purpose is to promote unity, sustain and increase the internal strength and power of the Greek system at MU, provide information and encourage involvement in campus and community affairs and uphold the values upon which the Greek community at MU was founded.
