Notre Dame High School names first lay president

The School Sisters of Notre Dame of St. Louis recently hired the first lay president at Notre Dame High School.

Marian LaPlante Wolaver assumes the post in July, according to a news release.

While Wolaver will serve as the school’s first lay president, she is no stranger to Notre Dame. She attended St. Raphael El-ementary School, Notre Dame High School and Notre Dame College.

Wolaver currently is employed as director of campus ministry programs at Incarnate Word Academy, where she has grown programs and launched a community-service component for all students, according to the news release.

“As a member of the mission committee and chair of that committee for three years, I know how important it is for the leader of the institution to bear that mission to all and to preserve the legacy and charism of the founding religious community. It will be the single most important part of my new position at Notre Dame,” Wolaver stated.
