No holiday pardons for criminals this year in Missouri

Gov. Jay Nixon’s office said there would be no pardons granted during the holiday season.

The governor’s spokesperson said several hundred applications are filed for pardons each year.

The requests go to the Missouri Board of Probation and Parole for review.

But Scott Holste said that for the second year in a row Jay Nixon will not be granting any of these pardons.

The last pardon granted in the state of Missouri was by former governor Matt Blunt in December 2007.
