‘Night Walk Into the Past’ offered Friday to Sunday

The Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site, 7400 Grant Road, will present the popular outdoor living history program “A Night Walk Into the Past,” from Friday, Aug. 6, to Sunday, Aug. 8.

As visitors walk the grounds, they will encounter costumed portrayals of individuals from the past. This year’s program, “1860: a Year of Decisions and Dissent,” brings historical figures to life as they discuss the challenges facing St. Louis and the Grant family in the months before the election of President Abraham Lincoln.

One performance will be offered at 7 p.m. each day. Although tickets for the program are free, space is limited and reservations are required. They may be made by calling the Visitor Center at (314) 842-3298, Ext. 245, or by stopping by the park. The program is not recommended for children younger than 5. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
