Elizabeth Newman, daughter of John and Sandy Newman of Oakville, and David Thurau, son of Bob and Ruth Thurau of Oakville, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
Newman, of Oakville, is a 2004 graduate of Oakville Senior High School and a 2008 graduate of McKendree University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a specialization in mathematics. She is employed by Gateway Science Academy in St. Louis as a middle school math teacher.
Her fiancé, Thurau, is a 2004 graduate of Oakville Senior High School. He received a doctor of pharmacy degree from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 2010 and is employed by Dierbergs Markets of St. Louis as a pharmacist.
The couple plan a Sept. 17 wedding at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in St. Louis.
