NEW: Town hall meeting scheduled Saturday at Buerkle

The Mehlville School District will host a town hall meeting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at Buerkle Middle School to inform the parents of current and future Buerkle students of the results from a facilities study recently completed by Dickinson-Hussman Architects, according to a district news release.

The facilities study was authorized by the Board of Education at its May 27 regular meeting to identify the renovations necessary to update the school and the cost estimates associated with the renovation plan.

Updates to Buerkle, Oakville and Washington middle schools are recommended in the district’s long-range improvement plan, COMPASS II — Charting the Oakville-Mehlville Path to Advance Successful Schools.

The findings from the facilities study indicate a need to modify the original COMPASS II plan to address the renovation needs for Buerkle, the release sated. Architect Dwight Dickinson will share the findings from the facilities study at the town hall meeting and will offer possible solutions to modify the original plan.
