Sherry Hausmann has assumed the role of president at St. Joseph Hospital of Kirkwood, according to a news release.

Hausmann joined St. Joseph Hospital of Kirkwood as president designate in Aug-ust.

Previously, she served as executive vice president and chief operating officer at DePaul Health Center.

Among her responsibilities as president, Hausmann will manage the transition the hospital will make over the next three years from its current site in Kirkwood to a new, state-of-the-art medical complex in southwest St. Louis County.

“I’m pleased and honored to join the exceptional health care ministry here at St. Joseph Hospital of Kirkwood,” Hausmann stated. “We look forward to the opportunity we have to take this ministry to a whole new level with a new hospital of the future that will provide medically superior, patient-centered care in a unique, healing environment.”

Hausmann holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Southern Illinois University and a master’s degree in business administration from Maryville University. She currently serves on the Southern Illinois University School of Nursing alumni board, and the Kirkwood-Des Peres Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors. Hausmann resides in Columbia, Ill., with her husband, Steve, and their five daughters.
