Crews with the Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District on Monday replaced an eight-inch sewer main that broke and leaked sewage in South St. Louis County.
The spill happened July 24 in the 3200 block of Patterson Place when the sewer main broke. The broken main leaked into a tributary of Mattese Creek. It’s unknown how much sewage entered the creek and its tributary.
The sewage spill was reported to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, as required by law.
