Monteleone to serve as Green Park alderman

The Green Park Board of Aldermen recently voted unanimously to approve the mayor’s appointment of Joe Monteleone to fill a vacant aldermanic seat.

Aldermen voted 5-0 Sept. 13 to adopt a resolution approving Mayor Tony Konopka’s appointment of Monteleone to fill the vacant Ward 3 board seat. The motion to adopt the resolution was made by Ward 3 Alderman Fred Baras and was seconded by Ward 1 Alderman Anthony Pousosa.

Monteleone replaces former Alderman Mark Hayden, who recently resigned from the board for personal reasons. He will serve until Hayden’s term expires in April.

Monteleone, 53, is employed at Laclede Gas and previously served on the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission.

His wife, Diane, was Green Park’s first city clerk and later city administrator/city clerk, serving from its incorporation in 1995 to 2002.
