Missouri American Water reports it repaired roughly 75 water main breaks on Saturday in St. Louis County.
The company received 71 new reports of water main breaks Saturday, though some of these may be duplicates, according to a news release.
A total of 47 crews, comprised of both company crews and hired contractors, are out working today — Sunday — and through the weekend.
However, because of the inclement weather predicted for today, Missouri American Water will pull its crews to ensure their safety. Work will resume when it is determined it is safe, the release stated.
The company also stated it has a backlog of approximately 200 reported issues to investigate. These are not all water main breaks. Often they include frozen internal plumbing, frozen service lines and other issues unrelated to water main breaks and may include duplicates.
