Eleven Mehlville School District seventh- and eighth-grade band pupils have been selected to join other top musicians from the area as members of the St. Louis Music Educators Association’s All-Suburban Junior High/Middle School Honor Band.
The district’s band pupils, who represent each of its four middle schools, were selected based on their auditions in front of a panel of judges late last month, according to a news release.
The Mehlville School District’s All-Suburban Junior High/Middle School Honor Band members include:
Bernard Middle
Nathan Schlecte, trumpet — fifth chair.
Margaret Buerkle Middle
Nathan Ledbetter, trombone — eighth chair.
Maggie Mazzola, trombone — ninth chair.
Rick Raaf, trumpet — ninth chair.
Austin Rinderer, trumpet — sixth chair.
Oakville Middle
Jake Bearden, trumpet — first chair.
Andrew Ludwig, percussion — sixth chair.
Michael Menkhus, alto saxophone — sixth chair.
Paul Pisciotta, trombone — first chair.
Washington Middle
Amanda Farmer, flute — fourth chair.
Cameron Weeks, trumpet — eighth chair.
The Honor Band members will rehearse together during the next few months in preparation for their performance for friends and family on Sunday, Jan. 10.
