The Mehlville Fire Protection District will hold a dedication ceremony next week for its new training center, honoring Dr. Chris Bosche.

The MFPD Board of Directors voted in 2017 to name the district’s EMS training facility in honor of Bosche, who had served as the district’s medical director since mid-2008.

The training facility at the district’s headquarters at 11020 Mueller Road will be called the “Dr. Christopher Bosche EMS Training Center” and will be dedicated at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 22.

Bosche died in September 2017 after battling cancer for nearly three years, a result of his exposure as a Ground Zero responder after the 9/11 attacks in New York City.

Bosche’s wife, Amy, and his children Jennifer and Jake will appear at the event.

“It is the opinion of the administrative staff that there is no one in recent memory that has contributed more to the (MFPD) than Dr. Chris Bosche,” Chief Brian Hendricks said.
