Mehlville to sponsor tennis classes next year

Beginning Jan. 8, the Mehlville School District Community Education Office will offer tennis for third- through 12th-grade boys and girls.

Classes will meet Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings for a total of eight sessions. Monday classes will be offered at Bernard Middle School, Wednesday classes will be offered at Oakville Middle School and Thursday classes will be conducted at Washington Middle School.

The classes are:

• Future Stars for grades three to five will meet from 5 to 6 p.m.

• Pre-Tournament Team for grades six to eight will meet from 6 to 7 p.m.

• Tournament Team for grades six through 12 will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.

Racquets and balls will be provided. All students will receive a T-shirt. The instructor will be Mark Platt.

The cost is $88 per student. Checks made payable to the Mehlville School District can be sent to: Mehlville Community Education Office, c/o Tennis Program, 3120 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis 63125.
