Mehlville senior named to All-State Show Choir

Mehlville High School senior Marcus Zomphier is the first student in Mehlville School District history to participate as a member of the Missouri All-State Show Choir.

Zomphier, who earned the honor after a successful audition, was presented a Board of Education Outstanding Achievement Award last week.

He’s no stranger to success as a member of the Mehlville High Show Choir. Earlier this school year, he earned selection to the All-Suburban Honor Choir. As a freshman and sophomore, Zomphier auditioned for and was selected to join the Mehlville High Honor Choir. He was voted the “Most Improved Junior” on the Mehlville High Choir last year.

Besides lending his talents as a great singer, Zomphier assists the Show Choir as head choreographer. Thanks to his participation as a singer and choreographer last year, the Mehlville High Show Choir captured Third Place at the National Heritage Festival competition in Atlanta.

Participating in Show Choir is only one of Zomphier’s passions at Mehlville. He is also a member of Student Council, the National Honor Society, Student Team Leadership and the Peer Mentor Program.

Zomphier attends Mehlville High School through the Voluntary Interdistrict Choice Corp. program. After high school, he plans to attend the University of Tampa and major in pre-law.

His mother is Lori Zomphier.
