Mehlville School District graduates910 students from two high schools

The Mehlville School District last week graduated 910 students during commencement programs.

Mehlville Senior High graduated 389 students during its program at the Family Arena, while Oakville Senior High awarded diplomas to 521 students at its program at the UMB Bank Pavilion.

Seven Mehlville High students compiled a perfect 4.0 grade-point average and earned valedictorian honors: Amy Blumenkamp, Amanda Cartee, Theresa Lochaas, Phillip Rapisardo, Nichole Runge, Amy Steward and Derek Weiss.

Jason Wang was honored as the class salutatorian.

Mehlville High’s Class of 2005 earned scholarships totaling a four-year value of $1,760,671. Of the 389 Mehlville graduates, 343 have indicated they will attend college, pursue vocational training or enlist in the military.

Oakville High saw 18 students post a perfect 4.0 grade-point average and earn valedictorian status: Katherine Blessing, Kath-leen Chamberlain, Andrea Cross, Rana Johnson, Timothy Lartonoix, Kristen Lee, Emily Mangels, Stephen Messenger, Meghna Nagabhushan, Kevin Nicoletti, Casey Noll, Ashley Riley, Brian Scholfield, Elizabeth Schwender, Cassandra Stanton, Matthew Tod, Bryan VanGronigen and Lisa Wiedermann.

Theresa Pisoni and Christy Biel were selected as salutatorians.

Oakville High’s Class of 2005 earned $3,390,647.40 in scholarship money. Of the 521 Oakville graduates, 468 have indicated they will attend college, pursue vo-cational training or enlist in the military.

Steve Braun and Wang of Mehlville High were recognized for achieving perfect attendance during all four years of high school.

A videotape of the Mehlville High graduation will be shown from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 23, on Charter Cable Channel 21. The Oakville High graduation will be shown from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 30, on Charter Cable Channel 21.
