Mehlville School District students performed with professional musicians on March 16 at the Touhill Performing Arts Center.

Eight students from both Mehlville and Oakville high schools performed as members of the Music City Hit-Makers’ classical instrument ensemble.

“The songwriters were so happy to have local kids playing their music,” said Amy Meschke, orchestra director for MHS, OHS and Buerkle Middle School. “The performance provided our students with a glimpse of what it is like to work as a musician for groups like this and also what it’s like to work in the arts.”

Eight students performed, pictured above: Back row, left to right: Padric Lovelady (MHS) and Adam Burton (MHS); (middle) Lydia Brooks (MHS), Madi Bauer (OHS), Marissa Salins (OHS), Madeleine Aguado (OHS), Alex Norrenberns (MHS); and (front) Nathan Waggoner (OHS).

The students performed “Stealing Cinderella,” “From the Ground Up,” “Ready to Run,” and “Kick the Dust Up.”
