The Mehlville-Oakville Foundation, a community-based nonprofit organization that supports the Mehlville School District’s students and staff, recently awarded $7,250 in college scholarships to Mehlville and Oakville high school seniors.
At both MHS and OHS, one college-bound senior receives the Mehlville-Oakville Foundation scholarship each year, and the foundation also coordinates the distribution of several other specially-funded scholarships to seniors pursuing post-secondary education, according to a district news release.
In addition to awarding scholarships to graduating seniors each year, the foundation also provides financial support for tutoring for at-risk students, special educational programs and activities and mini-grants for district teachers.
