Mehlville-Oakville Foundation awards grants to teachers

The Mehlville-Oakville Foundation visited nine district schools earlier this month and awarded nearly $4,000 to more than 30 teachers who submitted proposals to enhance and enrich their students’ classroom experience.

Funds for the mini-grants were raised at the Mehlville-Oakville Foundation Walk Run, which took place in October at Jefferson Barracks Park.

Mini-grant Chairs Sandra Maulin and Judy Compton led a selection committee composed of current and former Foundation members, administrators and retired educators.

“We always enjoy reading the proposals and appreciate the efforts of the educators in the Mehlville School District who offer their students a positive and enriching classroom experience,” according to Maulin and Compto, who are former district teachers.
