Mehlville focus groups planned

The Mehlville School District is taking a close look at how it communicates with the community.

Part of this process is a series of focus groups with different representatives of the community ranging from parents and staff to business owners and community leaders.

The district is opening two 45-minute focus groups to the community. The focus groups will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, and at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27. Both sessions will meet in the Administration Building Board Room, 3120 Lemay Ferry Road.

The district is attempting to talk to a representative group of the community, so a random sample of those who volunteer will be chosen to participate in the focus groups. Community members who would like to be considered to participate in one of the focus groups are asked to send an e-mail to or call (314) 535-4900 by Friday, Nov. 9.

Focus group participants will discuss current and future district communications methods. Non-district facilitators will lead the focus groups. The information gathered will be used in a district communications audit designed to perform a thorough evaluation of the current communication program with the goal of ensuring that future efforts are on target and effective.
