Mehlville celebrates Homecoming Week

From pajamas to green and white garb, Mehlville Senior High School students are showing their spirit during Homecoming Week, which continues through Friday, Oct. 15.

The seven senior girls nominated for 2004 Homecoming Queen are: Danielle Rancilio, Amanda Gummels, Megan Piel, Hannah Schrader, Jen Arendes, Katie Hen-nrich and Maya Smith.

Nominated for 2004 Homecoming King 2004 are: Phil Rapisardo, Alex Braun, Ry-an Carter, Ronald Roberts, Dave Bender, Steve Braun and Brandon Young.

Each day this week has had a different theme. Monday was Pajama Day. Tuesday was Stoplight Day. Wednesday was Salad Dressing Day. Today — Oct. 14 — is Homecoming Class T-shirt Day and Friday will be Green and White Day.

The homecoming varsity boys’ soccer game will take place at 5 p.m. today against against Lafayette. The traditional Home-coming Bonfire will be lit at 7 p.m.

A pep assembly will be conducted at 1:35 p.m. Friday on the football field followed by the Homecoming Parade at 3:15 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., the varsity football squad will square off against Marquette at Jordan Stadium.

The student body will dance the night away at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Homecoming Dance in Jones Gymnasium.

This year’s theme is “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.” Members of the Class of 2005 have nominated their Homecoming Court for the dance and students present at the event will vote for king and queen.
