Mehlville auditorium nears completion

Mehlville auditorium nears completion

The finishing touches are being applied to the Mehlville School District’s first auditorium, which is next to Mehlville Senior High School. The initial plans called for the facility to be completed by Nov. 1 at a price of $6 million, a news release stated. The project is now substantially complete and will be done a couple of weeks ahead of the deadline. The cost of the new auditorium will be less than the budgeted amount. The facility, which will be named the William B. Nottelmann Auditorium, will be able to seat 525 people for musical and dramatic performances by students throughout the district. During the next two weeks, teachers and other staff members will be trained on the lighting, audio, video and staging equipment. Superintendent Eric Knost stated in the release, ‘I am more than pleased that the auditorium will be completed ahead of schedule and under budget. It shows the expertise of the people who have been in charge of this project and once again demonstrates our dedication to getting the most value out of every dollar we spend.’
