St. Louis County prosecutors have charged an Arnold man with murder for allegedly stabbing his sister to death in Affton this morning.
Timothy Kuehn, 54, whose last known address is the 3000 block of Shelley Lynn Drive in Arnold, was charged Wednesday with one count of first-degree murder and one count of armed criminal action. He is being held without bond.
Police say Kuehn killed his sister, Karen Callis, 61, of the 10200 block of Marble Arch Lane in Affton, around 10:29 a.m.
“Defendant stabbed the victim repeatedly with a knife, causing her death,” the probable-cause statement said.
Police said that Kuehn admitted to the stabbing and said he “had to kill her” for insurance money.
Police responding to a call found Callis with multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Kuehn was taken into custody, and at that time police called him a “person of interest.”
This is not the first suspicious death police investigated in South County today. Earlier, police were on the scene of a suspicious death in Lemay.
