Make a Difference Day set Oct. 22 in Crestwood

The sixth annual Make a Difference Day in Crestwood in scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 22.

The event is sponsored by the Neighborhood Watch Committee with the cooperation of the city of Crestwood and the Police Department. This is a national day of volunteerism and the goal is to unite residents into a community of caring and sharing, according to a news release.

Millions of Americans across the country are expected to spend Oct. 22 doing volunteer projects to improve their communities and help neighbors in need. Crestwood is jumping on the bandwagon and joining the millions of volunteers to make a difference in the community. This day is the largest community service effort in the nation.

Volunteers will meet at the Crestwood Government Center, 1 Detjen Drive.

Volunteers will be doing various projects within the city. Others are making donations and collections for Feed My People, Our Little Haven, Lydia’s House for abused women and their children and Warners’ Warm-Up Coat Drive.
