Lutheran High School South senior Lauren Huebner has been named a semifinalist in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program.
National Merit semifinalists are high school seniors who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies. Lauren qualified as a semifinalist based on her performance on the PSAT/NMSQT assessment, which she took in October 2015 as a junior.
Her score was in the top 1 percent of the over 1.6 million students nationwide who took the test.
She will continue in the competition for the National Mer-it Scholarships to be announced later this year.
