The Lou Fusz Soccer Club (SC) 19-U team won the U.S. Club Soccer Boys National
Premier League (NPL) finals on July 3 after five days of competition in Lancaster, Massachusetts.
The NPL finals are the culminating event of a nationwide club-based competition among qualifiers from 16 regional leagues.
Three south county or Fenton residents were a part of the victorious team: Joe Ackfeld, an incoming senior at St. John Vianney High School; Johnny Geerling, an incoming senior at Lindbergh High School; and Bradley Fritsche, an incoming senior at Lutheran South High School.
Competing in of the most prestigious soccer championships in the country, Lou Fusz SC 19-U remained undefeated throughout the entire tournament with two wins and two ties.
The team defeated Space Coast United 3-0 in the finals.
