When they register, parents will have an opportunity to select full-day tuition based or half-day kindergarten classes. A limit of 20 full-day pupils per class at each building exists. Parents who register in Feb-ruary will be given priority for full-day kin-dergarten. If more than 20 pupils in a building request full-day kindergarten, a lottery system will be used.

At registration, parents can also schedule their child’s kindergarten screening date.

An official birth certificate issued by the Bureau of Vital Statistics must be presented at the time of registration. Baptismal and hospital certificates will not be accepted. Parents should bring the child’s immunization records, Social Security card and parent’s proof of residency. This proof must be either a real or personal property tax bill, a rental or purchase contract plus deposit receipt or a federal tax return.

State law requires that immunizations must be up to date on the first day of school or the pupil cannot attend. Children only can be registered by a parent or court-appointed legal guardian. Divorced parents must provide a copy of the dissolutionment decree which states custody rights.
