Lindbergh students earn Missouri Scholars 100 recognition

Lindbergh students earn Missouri Scholars 100 recognition

Lindbergh High School senior Kyle Gibbs has been selected for the Missouri Scholars 100, a statewide program that honors 100 of Missouri’s top academic students in the graduating class of 2016.

LHS senior Madeline Lake earned an Honorable Mention for the program.

The Lindbergh Board of Education honored both students at Tuesday night’s school board meeting.

“We’ve very proud of Kyle, and also Madeline,” Superintendent Jim Simpson said after he read about the two high school students’ accomplishments.

Missouri Scholars 100 is a statewide program sponsored by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals. Schools nominate students for the program based on grade point average and ACT or SAT score.

To be nominated for the prestigious honor, students must have a minimum 3.75 GPA, score at least 29 on the ACT, rank in the top 10 percent of graduating seniors, and take upper level courses in mathematics, science, English and foreign language. Students also must have excellent attendance and be involved in extracurricular activities.
