To the editor:
I am writing today as a Lindbergh parent and alumnus and president of the Board of Education to thank our community for voting Nov. 2 to keep Lindbergh “Lindbergh” and approve Proposition L.
We are very fortunate to live in a community that values education. During these difficult economic times, Prop L will protect opportunities for students and home values in our district. The Nov. 2 passage of Prop L will accomplish three things. First, Prop L will stop class size increases; second, it will stop deficit spending, and third, it will stop additional laying off of teachers.
Moving forward, my fellow Board of Education members and I have an important responsibility to be wise, conservative financial stewards of the funding that will be entrusted to us by our residents.
I would like to express a sincere thanks to our community, parents, staff and alumni — all of the voters who recognize the importance of maintaining quality education through stabilization of class sizes, retention of teachers and elimination of our operating deficit.
Passing Prop L will keep Lindbergh “Lindbergh” for the near future and protect our students in the years to come.
Thank you.
Ken Fey
Lindbergh Schools board president
