Lindbergh school board earns MSBA award

The Lindbergh Board of Education has been selected to receive the Missouri School Boards’ Association’s 2010 Education Leadership Team Award.

In addition, Lindbergh Board of Education Vice President Vic Lenz was elected president-elect of MSBA for 2010-2011.

Lindbergh is one of six school boards statewide to earn the prestigious leadership award, which is based on a board’s outstanding commitment to ongoing professional development, regional and statewide leadership, active participation in legislative advocacy for public schools and successful implementation of education policy to improve their local school district.

Also earning the 2010 award was the Mehlville Board of Education.

Criteria to earn the Education Leadership Team Award includes:

• All seven school board members have completed the required 16 hours of training from MSBA.

• At least two board members have attained the advanced level of certification from MSBA.

• At least one board member has attained the master’s level of certification, MSBA’s highest certification distinction.

• Representatives from each district attended MSBA’s 2009 annual conference.

• Representatives from each district attended either MSBA’s 2009 spring regional or 2009 fall regional meetings.
