Lindbergh residents urged to ride ‘Spirit Bus’

Lindbergh School District officials are urging residents to ride the “Spirit Bus” as the district conducts its 18th annual Spirit Festival Saturday, May 16.

Festivities will begin at 9 a.m. with a parade starting at Sperreng Middle School, 12111 Tesson Ferry Road, and ending at Lindbergh High School, 4900 S. Lindbergh Blvd.

The parade will include floats from district schools, partnership entries, the Lindbergh High School Spirit of St. Louis Marching Band and cheerleaders.

The Spirit Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the Lindbergh High School campus. The event is a family and community celebration that features game booths, more than a dozen rides, silent auction, children’s area, sports challenges and refreshments, according to a news release.

Ongoing entertainment is the order of the day. Performances include: high school jazz groups, the Lindbergh High School Strolling Strings, Lindbergh High School Pom and Baton, the Sperreng Fiddlers, the Sperreng Jazz Ensemble and local bands.

Free parking and shuttles are available at all five Lindbergh elementary schools.

Parking also is available after 10 a.m. at Sperreng Middle School and Lindbergh Early Childhood, 10305 Concord School Road. Parking is not available on the high school campus, but shuttles will run continuously until 9:30 p.m.
