Lindbergh receives perfect audit for 21st consecutive year

Independent CPA auditing firm Kerber, Eck & Braeckel LLP recently presented a perfect audit for Lindbergh Schools to the Board of Education.

Per state law, Lindbergh Schools is required to bring in an independent firm every year to audit the district’s books. This was the sixth year the audit was performed by KEB.

“We take pride in our fiscal responsibility at Lindbergh, but validation from a third-party, independent auditor is a reassuring confirmation that our practices are sound,” Board of Education President Kathleen Kienstra stated in a news release.

Lindbergh has a 21-year tradition of receiving the best audit opinion a school district can get, dating back to 1994. The “unmodified rating” simply means the audit did not find any instances of noncompliance or deficiencies.

“The benefit to hiring an independent firm such as KEB is that they evaluate our district finances according to their own extremely high legal and professional accounting standards,” Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Chief Financial Officer Charles Triplett stated in the release. “Their positive feedback in the 2015 report ensures and reaffirms for us that we are operating the district’s budget with a high level of accountability and responsibility.”
