A Lindbergh School District parent would like to “save the shore” with a fundraiser that kicks off Dec. 1.
Mike Royster, a former resident of Rhode Island, will organize tractor trailers to be loaded with survival items for victims of Superstorm Sandy on the East Coast.
The event will take place in the parking lot of Sperreng Middle School, 12111 Tesson Ferry Road, and will continue for a minimum of two weeks.
Royster is looking for sponsors, volunteer, nonperishables and survival items.
Schools can participate by asking students to man the truck and earn community service hours.
