Lindbergh, Mehlville students offer their resolutions for the new year

Sappington Elementary School fourth-graders offer the following New Year’s Resolutions:

My New Year’s Resolution is to do a lot better at reading. I will meet it by looking back in the story and by rereading the story.

Andrew

My New Year’s Resolution is to stop fighting with my sister. I will meet it by counting to 10 and saying, “Please stop annoying me. Please!”

Jenna

My New Year’s Resolution is taking my dog out right away. I will meet it by walking in the door, putting my stuff down, grabbing her and taking her down.

I could also wait outside for somewhere around 10 to 15 minutes.

Jessica

My New Year’s Resolution is to get better grades. I will meet it by studying more or paying attention in class a little better.

I won’t look around the room while my teacher is talking.

Ariel

My New Year’s Resolution is to exercise and be more active. I will meet that goal by doing my homework when I get home from school, so I have enough time to play outside while the sun is still out.

Vasilika

My New Year’s Resolution is I want to do 110 percent anytime, anywhere. I will meet it by doing my best!

Kate

My New Year’s Resolution is to train my new dog, Coffee Beans. I will meet it by having treats with me every time I go out. I will tell him the trick I want him to do a lot of times. I will try as hard as I can. I hope I can do it!

I would like to do better on Tungsten by reading slower and reading the questions twice.

I would like to get better at kickball by practicing.

Jason

I would like to get better at soccer by practicing.

Michael

I want to remember to practice playing my violin by writing it in my planner.

Nathan

I would like to get better at soccer and basketball by practicing 20 minutes a day.

Addie

I will stop chewing gum so much by asking my parents to stop buying it.

Olivia, Lejla, Emily

I want to stop talking so much, be better at science, be better at baseball and be a better violin player.

Joseph

I want to bend it like Beckham by practicing bending.

Fourth-graders at Trautwein, Wohlwend and Point elementary schools offer the following New Year’s Resolutions:

My New Year’s Resolution is to help me work harder in school and to make the world a better place. To make people stop smoking and stop drinking beer. To make me a better person and help everyone have a good life.

That is my New Year’s Resolution.

My New Year’s Resolution is to ask the teacher for more homework and to read more books.

Colin

My New Year’s Resolution is to make people stop smoking! I also want kids to stop bullying other kids. I want everybody to stop littering! And everyone to stop fighting! Stop making fun of people.

My New Year’s Resolution is writing more often, like making stories of my own like at home and stuff. I also want to play soccer more so I can be like a pro. I would like to try to do new things like play basketball and read even more books. I would also like to do my chores more often, like wash the car and wash the dishes.

My New Year’s Resolution is to recycle more to help the earth and to make more bottles and bowls for the people that are in need.

My New Year’s Resolution is to do better in school so I can get a good job. I also want to get into SLU high school and Washington University. I want to be a paleontologist and study fossils and dinosaur bones. I also want a happy family.

Joey

My New Year’s Resolution is to read longer in the day. If I read longer, I might be able to get in a good college. I will not spend so much time watching TV every day. Instead I will read!

Miranda

My New Year’s Resolution is to start getting lots of A’s on my report card. I want to get lots of A’s so I can be a better student and be really smart. I am going to get lots of A’s by studying for tests and paying attention in class.

Emily

My New Year’s Resolution is to be a better cousin by playing with my 8-year-old cousin Drew more often. I will make sure we play tag, hide and seek and jump on the trampoline a lot more often.

Lindsey

My New Year’s Resolution is to score more goals in the rest of my hockey games.

I’m going to do that because I’m going to practice more and more.
