Lindbergh incumbents re-elected to office

Lindbergh Board of Education incumbents Karen Schuster and Mike Shamia were re-elected to the board last week for three-year terms.

Board President Schuster and board Secretary Shamia came in first and second in the contest, respectively, defeating newcomer Eric Edward Thias.

Schuster earned 3,488 votes, or 46.85 percent, and Shamia came in second with 2,898 votes, or 40.15 percent. Thias earned 923 votes, or 12.4 percent.

The candidates were set to be sworn in to their terms Tuesday — after the Call went to press.

Schuster will be sworn in for her third term. Shamia first won election last year to a one-year seat, but will serve a full three-year term this time.
